Keep it on the down low.
Put it in DownNote.
Your notes and documents in a small window that floats over whatever you're doing. Ask a question and get the answer from your own files, while you write, study, fill out paperwork or take a call.
Stuck on a detail? Just ask.
Writing a proposal, filling out a form or doing homework, you don't have to stop and go looking. Ask DownNote, get the answer from your own files, and keep typing.
- 1Type until you hit something you don't know.
- 2Ask DownNote. It answers from your notes and documents.
- 3Use the answer and keep going.
Everything you need, right where you're working.
Stop digging through folders for a date, a price or a clause. Your notes and documents are one question away, in any app, and only you can see them.
Ask your notes
Real answers from your own notes, with the page they came from. Follow-up questions just work, and you can ask one project instead of everything.
Hidden when you share
Share a window in Zoom, Meet or Teams. They see your slides. Only you see your notes.
The mini bubble
A small bubble in the corner opens over any app, even full screen, and folds away when you're done.
Bring in your documents
Drag in contracts, PDFs, Word files and class notes, even scanned paper. Each one becomes a clean page you can search, edit and ask about, then save as a PDF or Word file.
Summaries in one tap
A page, the part you highlight, or whole chapters at once.
Three moves. No digging through folders.
It sits quietly in the corner and stays out of the way until you need it.
Press the shortcut.
The bubble opens in the corner, over whatever you're working on. Press it again and it's gone.
Ask what you need.
“When does the Lindqvist contract renew?” The answer arrives in seconds, with the document it came from.
Keep going.
Use the answer and get back to work, or open the whole page. On a call, people still see only the window you share.

Sales and client calls
Your script, prices and the client's details in view while you share your screen. No more “let me find that.”
Students
Import lecture notes and study guides, then ask while you do homework or study.
Businesses

Good questions.
Yes. The reliable way is to share a single window or tab instead of your entire screen — then DownNote simply isn't part of what you share, so it can't appear, in any app. We recommend presenting that way anyway, since people also don't see your notifications or other windows. Sharing your whole screen is less certain: it hides DownNote in Google Meet, but in Zoom it can show unless you change a Zoom setting. And of course, DownNote can't hide from a camera pointed at your screen or (on newer Macs) from the Mac's own screen recorder.
On your computer. When you ask the AI something, the notes it needs go securely to our AI provider to write the answer, and we don't keep them. The privacy policy has the details.
Only where notes are allowed. DownNote is for your own notes while you work, study, meet and present. If a test or interview says no notes, that includes DownNote.
Each question, summary, or “show my page” request that needs the AI. Finding a page by its name doesn't count, and unused questions don't roll over.
DownNote works on Mac and Windows. A phone app with your notes synced is planned. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you.
Yes. You keep your plan until the end of what you paid for, and your notes stay yours, even on Free.
